I'm sure you've checked in here looking for the detailed race report I'm sure to write. You're going to have to wait a little bit long but for now, I'll entertain you all with a preview.
I'm worked. I'm worked more now then only a few handful of times I can think of. Three weeks between 100 miles races is not enough time. It turns the second of those two races into torture. My legs were cooked by Ten Bears one. The heat and humidity was classic Vermont summer and I loved it. It didn't bother me mentally but it bothered my stomach plenty. Though I'm starting to wonder, given the number of others who had tummy issues, if it was something in the water.
My crew and pacer were exceptional. I cannot think of a time when things went more smoothly and effortlessly. I commend them for all of their hard work and support. Without them and their patience, I'd be dead in the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning. Instead, I'm a four time Vermont 100 finisher and still working on the slam.
I'm extremely sore, tired, foggy and all the like. Back to the couch with the AC on high. For now, here is a picture that might tell some of the tale.
