After four years of trying to even get into the race, I finally had my chance to take it to the Sierra Nevada. I think a few of my fellow runners are intrigued by my "cool as a cucumber" .. Not nervous, anxious or excited approach to the race this past weekend. I was gladly just hanging out in Cali with my family and wonderful friends.
The excitement finally set in when I knew I finally had a finish within my grasp. Sarah ran with my that finally 1.3 miles down hill to Placer High, where I crossed the Western States 100 with a time of 28 hours and 29 minutes. I did it...
I did it!
The report will come in due time, but for now I am enjoying a week in Las Vegas. Stay tuned!
Grand Slam race number 1 = complete.

ReplyDeleteCongrats John! Can't wait to hear your full report. Thanks again for the words of encouragement at mile 46 in Pittsfield. Your positive attitude got me to the finish and I truly appreciate it. Thanks again!
