Well... I guess the term "King" should be reserved for the winning Male of the 50 Mile Race... so I'll simply take a seat at the round table. Only because I think I've run in more foul weather than anyone I know.. and my experience paid off this past Sunday at the Vermont 50 Mile Ultra.
With a time of 10 Hours and 14 Minutes, I finished the race with my 3rd fastest of 4 finishing times. For those who drink from a glass half empty, that makes it 2nd slowest time of my 4 finishes. I felt like a veteran out there with this being my 4th Vermont 50 and I felt like a veteran mud skipper after slippin through the slop at what I thought was a stellar pace.
10:14 was good enough for 33rd place out of 118 or so finishers. In 2008 I was 30th with a time of 8:58 to give you an idea of how the conditions factored into the performances out there. I was also 6th out of 16 in my division (Males 0-29).
The report is coming... as well as some messy pictures. School comes first kiddies!
